Why we built this
We have seen the gap up close.We have spent years around midwifery, and we have good friends and connections across the field. Again and again we saw the same trouble: families who wanted a midwife and did not know where to look, and wonderful midwives who were hard to find.
There was no single place to search. So we built one. Midwife Market lists midwives, nurse-midwives and birth centers across the United States, in one place that works well on a phone. Searching is free for families, always.
Our story
- It started with midwivesIn 2022 we began building tools for midwives. Working alongside them showed us what they need, and what families keep running into.
- We saw the gapFamilies had a hard time finding and connecting with a midwife near them. Many midwives had no simple way to be found.
- So we built the directoryMidwife Market brings families and midwives together: one nationwide directory, started from the public record and kept up by midwives themselves.
Are you a midwife without a website?
You do not need one. Your Midwife Market profile is an inexpensive way to have your own page: your photo, your story, your services and how families can reach you.
Where we are
Hayden, IdahoOur headquarters are in Hayden, in northern Idaho. It is where our family lives and works, and where Midwife Market is built and run.
